Welcome to the 24th edition of the Bonn International Model United Nations / Simulation Internationale des Nations Unies de Bonn conference!

Returning to Germany's primary UN hub, we are proud to continue one of the country's longest-running MUN traditions, featuring unique committees, excellent academics, and an unforgettable lineup of socials!

From the 21st to the 25th of October, BIMUN will return to Bonn's famous Diplomatenviertel, featuring four committees, a packed social program, and a unique location in a professional conference center! From multilingual committees with live translation to an exciting crisis committee to put your skills to the test, BIMUN 2026 will be a unique and unforgettable experience for delegates of all experience levels. 

Committees

For beginners, the UN Development Programme will be multilingual with live translation in English, French, German, and Spanish, exploring the UN's primary body tackling global inequality. Additionally, the World Food Programme addresses the difficult reality that in a world where headlines change every hour, food security remains the most pressing issue to billions across the globe. Intermediate delegates can look forward to unique committees, such as the Historical NATO, as understanding the many tests the Alliance has faced in the past is necessary to navigate the troubled waters of today. Finally, expert delegates are invited to join our Crisis Committee, where they can immerse themselves in a real-time crisis event by representing a key character, making decisions and thinking on their feet to see what it truly means to be a world leader.

Theme

This year's theme “Interests Over Order: Power, Cooperation, and the Multipolar World” puts the spotlight on the question nearly every international organization and its diplomats must constantly ask themselves today. Over 80 years after the UN's founding, these same institutions face pressure from all sides as countries across the globe balance justice and international law with their own strategic interests. Is it worth upholding the rules-based international order if nobody else does? How can nations cooperate efficiently if they abandon the rules surrounding it? Must humanitarian aid be caught in the crossfire of geopolitical rivalries? None of these questions can be answered easily, but one thing is certain: these issues will not resolve themselves…

Application process 

After submitting your application, it will be carefully reviewed by our Secretariat. Once your application has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation email. One month before the conference, you will be assigned to a committee and country. 

Preparation and Informations 
To ensure that all delegates are well prepared, we provide both organizational and academic resources before the conference.

Organizational Preparation:
At least one month before the conference, you will receive a Delegate Handbook containing the conference schedule, venue information, and details about the social events. You will also receive the Rules of Procedure, which explain the debating rules and procedures used throughout the conference.

Academic Preparation:
Your Committee Chairs will provide a Study Guide with background information on your committee's topic that you should know. 
In addition, delegates are expected to submit a Position Paper (maximum one page) outlining the official position of their assigned country. A writing guide will be provided to help you prepare your paper.
