About

Women and girls represent half of the world’s population and, therefore, also half of its potential. Gender equality, besides being a fundamental human right, is essential to achieve peaceful societies, with full human potential and sustainable development. Moreover, it has been shown that empowering women spurs productivity and economic growth.

Unfortunately, there is still a long way to go to achieve full equality of rights and opportunities between men and women, warns UN Women. Therefore, it is of paramount importance to end the multiple forms of gender violence and secure equal access to quality education and health, economic resources and participation in political life for both women and girls and men and boys. It is also essential to achieve equal opportunities in access to employment and to positions of leadership and decision-making at all levels.

    About the committee

CHIEF GUST SPEECH MODEL MUN CONFERENCE Distinguished Leaders, Organizer, Social Reformers, esteemed guest, respected faculty members and my dear delegates from various Nations. It is my great honour to welcome you all to the Model MUN Conference in our great Cholan MHSS campus. “GENDER EQUALITY AND COMBATING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS” theme reflects the urgency and importance of global platform. It is very urgency and today demands world with strong solutions and to lead the leadership. Where our young minds come together to debate, discuss and shape the future. Today, as we embarked on this journey of diplomacy, collaboration and leadership, we are reminded of the values that the united nation upholds – equality, peace, wellbeing and cooperation. MUN is more than just a conference, and it is a great platform to the young minds where ideas meet action, where perspective are challenged, and where the leaders of tomorrow are shaped in the world. Each one of you holds the power on behalf of your nation as a delegate to drive meaningful discussions, think reasonably and critically and negotiate with diplomacy. As a delegate from various nations, you are stepping into the foot of world leaders. Your words will carry weight, your decision and suggestions will have impact, and your negotiations will shape resolutions that reflect a collective vision for a better world. You should remember, diplomacy is not about providing oneself right but about finding common ground of the topic. It is about listening as much as speaking, understanding as much as debating and explanation. Let this conference be a space where ideas flourish where respect friendships are formed beyond borders. I express my deepest gratitude to our organizing team faculty advisers, delegates from various nations and parent’s everyone who has worked tirelessly to make this event possible. Your dedication and passion have bought this vision to future life. With that, I officially declare “Gender Equality and Combating Violence against women and girls” open.
