EMERGE-UNICAF SECONDARY SCHOOL EDITION MUN 2026

The EMERGE–UNICAF Secondary School Model United Nations Conference 2026 is Zambia's premier Model United Nations conference for secondary school students, bringing together aspiring young leaders from across the country to develop their leadership potential through diplomacy, dialogue, and global engagement.

Held under the theme "Beyond GDP: Redefining Global Progress for People, Planet, and Prosperity," the conference challenges delegates to think beyond traditional measures of economic success and explore how nations can achieve sustainable development by prioritizing human well-being, environmental stewardship, social inclusion, innovation, and responsible governance.

Over two exciting days, delegates will represent United Nations Member States in simulated committee sessions where they will debate contemporary global issues, negotiate resolutions, build consensus, and propose practical solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through these simulations, participants will gain a deeper understanding of international relations, diplomacy, and global citizenship while strengthening their confidence and communication skills.

Whether attending their first Model United Nations conference or returning as experienced delegates, participants will have the opportunity to develop essential twenty-first century competencies, including public speaking, critical thinking, research, negotiation, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving in a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment.
