Welcome back for the 24th edition of the London International Model United Nations, University Conference! This years conference will take place between the 24th and the 26th of February 2023, and promises the return of an incredible LIMUN Conference. After two years of the pandemic, the secretariat are gearing up to make this conference return to the collaborative nature of in-person debate and discussion. LIMUN is a platform for international dialogue and multifaceted diplomacy. It has consistently attracted delegates, chairs and ambassadors from around the world and is now an established, academic institution for youth debate and advocacy. This year we are more excited than ever to welcome you back for this prestigous conference in the heart of London.
“In-line with the increasingly unprecedented developments across international politics, LIMUN 2023’s theme is “Navigating Uncharted Territory: Diplomacy for a Changing World”. Collaboration has been a staple-piece of the contemporary international system since the inception of the United Nations. Through multilateral engagement, states have been able to navigate through disagreements, crises, and conflicts. Yet, as we emerge back into a more widely connected world, we cannot help but notice how states are retreating away from global collaboration and towards regionalism, even protectionism. As economic crises develop, and conflicts escalate to a scale not seen since the mid 20th-century, we cannot forget or neglect the importance of these platforms.
At LIMUN 2023 you will come together with other impassioned individuals to navigate the truly unprecedented issues that are challenging international cosmopolitanism. As the United Nations comes together for a once in a generation Summit of the Future, it is important that you use this conference to create innovative solutions for the risks we face, and challenge the traditional mechanisms of global governance. Here, we can begin to lay the foundations that will guide the development of diplomacy in this ever-changing international geopolitical environment. ”
