    About the committee

Clean Air, Bright Futures: Securing Children's Well-being from Environmental Pollutions In our increasingly polluted world, children face a silent threat to their well-being: environmental pollution, particularly air pollution. This pervasive issue significantly impacts their health, cognitive development, and overall quality of life. Just as children lack the means to defend against abuse, they also lack the ability to combat pollution's insidious effects. Clean air, a basic necessity, is often compromised, endangering their futures. Much like the imperative to protect children from abuse, UNICEF's mission now extends to ensuring children's safety from environmental harm. Delegates will unite to confront this challenge, seeking innovative solutions and international cooperation to secure children's well-being by mitigating pollution's effects. Every child has the right to a healthy environment, and it's imperative that we act swiftly to ensure the well being environment for the world's youth.

    About the committee

Bridging the Digital Divide: Equal and Universal Access to the Internet In an increasingly digital world, the role of the internet in daily life cannot be overstated. From education and healthcare to economic opportunities and social inclusion, it is an essential tool for personal and societal advancement. However, despite significant strides in global connectivity, the digital divide persists as a daunting challenge. 2.9 billion people are still offline around the world – mostly those living in rural areas. The ability to connect remains profoundly unequal within and between countries. This divide disproportionately affects rural communities, where infrastructure limitations and affordability barriers hinder connectivity and prolong the huge gap of countries' welfare. Not only that but also with marginalized communities that face obstacles in accessing high-speed internet, exacerbating existing inequalities. To bridge this divide, comprehensive efforts are required. Unfair internet regulations done by authoritative states that seek to limit civil rights exacerbate these disparities, particularly among marginalized communities where they are unable to pursue their rights, hold those who are accountable, and spread awareness to the rest of the world. Delegates shall come together to discuss targeted policies and create global collaboration to ensure no one is left behind.

    About the committee

Navigating the Morality Maze: Examining the Impact and the Ethical Consequences of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Warfare In the 21st century, the proliferation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly widespread, aimed at enhancing human productivity. AI has the capacity to substitute human roles, executing tasks according to the instructions programmed by humans. The rapid advancement any piece of technology are bound to be used for other means outside of it's original purpose, artificial Intelligence is not an exception. AI is seen as a means to enhance a nation's military capabilities while reducing soldier casualties during conflicts. However, the utilization of AI in the military carries significant implications and risks. In the event of war and the unregulated use of AI, it has the potential to become a formidable threat to humanity similar to other forms of technology in the past. Hence, a necessity arises for comprehensive regulations in alignment with ethical standards and international law concerning the development and deployment of AI in modern warfare.
