NOVOMUN 2027

NOVOMUN is a formal, school-level Model United Nations conference where delegates represent their assigned countries and are challenged to approach a wide range of current political, military, and international issues from their country’s perspective. Through debate, negotiation, and diplomacy, participants develop their knowledge, cultural awareness, critical thinking, and communication skills, while being encouraged to step outside their comfort zones.
 

This Model United Nations conference focuses on the discussion of draft clauses rather than draft resolutions. Throughout each committee session, delegates have the opportunity to debate and amend these clauses before voting on them. Clauses are either passed or rejected according to the votes in favour, against, and abstentions. Those that are approved are then incorporated into the committee’s Final Resolution, which is discussed and voted on towards the end of the session.
 

The 2027 edition of NOVOMUN will once again bring together students at Universidade da Maia for a conference centred around engaging with some of the most pressing challenges facing the international community. Through its committees and debates, delegates will be encouraged to explore different perspectives, seek diplomatic solutions, and work towards meaningful international cooperation.
