Dear Model United Nations colleagues,

Warm Greetings!

Suzhou is born by water, and the world is connected by communication. Rivers pass through cities, connecting distant places to each other. Thoughts cross boundaries and let different voices meet in the same space. In the winter of 2026, we sincerely invite young delegates from the Pan Yangtze River Delta region and all over countries to gather in Suzhou, China and jointly participate in the 16th Pan Yangtze River Delta High School Model United Nations Conference.

The theme of this Conference is "Tides Converge in Suzhou, Voices Resonate Across the World".

The tide never moves in a single direction. It is formed by numerous tributaries, just as the international community is composed of different countries, civilizations and interests. Here, every position should be carefully understood, every issue deserves to be examined, and every speech may become the beginning of consensus.

The world today is not peaceful. Old rules are constantly tested, new forces and concepts continue to emerge, and issues such as war, development, science and technology, environment and justice are intertwined. Faced with these huge and complex problems, young people may not be able to give the final answer for the time being, but they should not give up the right to ask questions. The significance of the Model United Nations is to learn how to represent others, how to remain rational in differences, and how to make a responsible judgment between interests and principles during the limited session.

The waterways in Suzhou record the exchanges of thousands of years, and also witness the meeting of tradition and modernity. The spirit of diversity, innovation and internationalization advocated by Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University provides an open space for the exchange of different ideas. We hope that this conference will not only be a meeting, but also a journey of discovery, understanding and growth. The delegates will put forward their views, respond to questions and carry out consultations in the forum, and will also have a new understanding of the country, the world and themselves in discussions.

From December 11 to 13, 2026, let's meet in Suzhou. May every delegate come with curiosity and return with reflection. May different voices meet here and eventually become a glimmer of light shining on the wider world.
