Community Beyond Borders

QMUN VI

As part of this year’s conference, we have chosen Community Beyond Borders as our theme. While the idea of community has always been fundamental to human nature, it has become increasingly significant in the current world. In an era not only shaped by global challenges and political division among groups, the need to build understanding across identities and with itself, communities has never been more important.

“Community Beyond Borders” reflects the idea that diplomacy is not only built through the dialogue of governments and institutions, but also through a shared sense of humanity. These values are at the very heart of what we all do in MUN, even if sometimes we forget about it. Through MUN, we are reminded that actual change is only possible when people are willing to listen to one another beyond any boundaries.

“Community Beyond Borders” encourages us to move beyond current norms of hatred that we see daily in the news, and to seek change through cooperation beyond any defined borders. Whilst we cannot change the world with a simple conference, we can build a foundation to a future where communities are not divided by borders, but united through humanity. In a world where hatred, and division continue to affect millions, this theme serves as a reminder that despite our differences, we all bleed the same.

QMUN27 will, for its first time, have 7 committees of different levels of difficulty in order to accommodate beginner MUNers, but also the more experienced ones. From the more common committees such as ECOSOC and UNSC, to more different ones such as COPUOS and the Arab League, our delegates will be able to choose from our range of topics and committees offered. And let's not forget… QMUN27 is bringing CRISIS back!
