About

Our Theme: Beyond the Blue

Imagine four full days in Somabay, one of the Red Sea’s most luxurious destinations — a place where crystal-clear waters, beachfront landscapes, and a world-class resort atmosphere set the stage for an unforgettable experience.

Engage in rigorous, high-level debate each day, then unwind with by-the-beach activities, a seaside dinner, and a visit to the Somabay Aqua Park. The combination of challenging committee sessions and vibrant coastal experiences creates a conference environment that truly stands apart.

It doesn’t get much better than that — a rare chance to grow, make meaningful impact, and enjoy everything the seaside setting has to offer.

The Somabay Model United Nations (SBMUN) conference is a middle and high school level simulation of the United Nations. SBMUN is delighted to host its inaugural session from January 23 - 26, 2026 at GEMS International School Somabay, Red Sea, Egypt.

SBMUN aspires to become the region’s leading MUN conference; amplifying youth voices and redefining the experience through a journey that sparks lasting impact in Egyptian communities and the world.

Founded by the creator of the El Gouna International Model United Nations (EGIMUN), SBMUN builds on a legacy of excellence, drawing on years of experience and a global network to deliver impactful conferences that challenge delegates in debate, service and leadership, while shaping an immersive experience for all.
