Conference
About
Model United Nations is an internationally recognized extracurricular activity that exposes students to current events while honing real-world skills such as critical thinking, diplomacy, research, negotiation, debate, and policy-making. As an academic simulation of the United Nations, students act as delegates from their assigned countries to advance their interests through delivering speeches, forming alliances, and sponsoring resolutions, among others.
The 6th Xavier Model United Nations Secretariat has adopted the theme of “Directing the Renaissance of Diplomacy for Peace and Prosperity.” Delegates will charter a course through the ever-changing political climate and global realities while they strive towards a new renaissance of diplomacy. With this in mind, delegates will take charge and direct bold change for renewed peace and prosperity.
The 6th XMUN Conference, the largest interscholastic conference in the Philippines, will be conducted through a hybrid set-up, comprising eight onsite committees and one online committee. The onsite committees will take place at the campus of Xavier School San Juan while the online committee will be conducted through Zoom and Discord.
Committees
United Nations General Assembly

While keeping tradition, this committee may also participate in the renaissance of diplomacy through its diverse and unique set of topics, cultivating a new generation of beginner delegates as they build a world of peace and prosperity.World Bank

But with the limited resources present in our reality, the committee demands delegates to be assertive and creative in order to bring long-term prosperity and peace even in contentious areas, with little to no exclusion of major stakeholders. The World Bank, mandated with providing technical and financial support to states, promotes long-term development and poverty reduction, thus contributing to the world's shared prosperity and peace. In order to further improve the effectiveness of this phenomenon and address disputes regarding the ownership of these historical pieces, delegates must look into the past, mediate disagreements, and work towards a brighter and more prosperous future.Organization of Islamic Countries
Intermediate · EnglishMany UNSCs in the Philippines MUN circuit have recently been fixated and focused on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, an evolving and complex situation that has caught the attention of world powers. However, this committee would instead prioritize other aspects of the conflict and involve regional stakeholders rather than the international community. This regional bloc would not only mitigate the effects of the conflict, but assist in stabilizing the region in the midst of all this internal conflict. This is the desired end goal of the committee, and stabilization leads to peace and prosperity.International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea

Expert · EnglishSimilarly to ADHOC, this committee provides a unique and unpredictable environment for delegates, with the addition of an AI generated crisis updates. With the steadfast development of AI technology, this committee believes that it can utilize the generating process to keep delegates on their feet. By doing so, it promotes more quick and witty discussion, renewing what exactly a crisis committee has to offer. Delegates are not informed of the committee topic until the day of the conference. *As the ADHOC Crisis, only the Faculty Moderators, Secretary-General, Undersecretaries-General for Academics, and Board of Dais are privy to the information behind the ADHOC to ensure its confidentiality.Historical Parliament Crisis
Expert · EnglishLaunching off the success of the previous XMUN House of Commons, this committee plans on merging the intense debate and discussion of a standard crisis committee and the legal processes of a parliament. Delegates must acknowledge the historical context and background of the chosen historical parliament, exercising their legislative authority to rewrite the past and build a new future. Emphasizing the diplomatic nature of a parliament, this committee would re-establish the definition of a crisis, paving the way for a renaissance in the Philippine Model UN circuit.
