My name or maybe my number in the world is approximately 3 500 020 090. You may be concerned of the number and of its meaning but knowing that there are more than 7 billion people living in the world it should be rational to say my number instead of introducing myself. However, what if I am one of those people who do not want to be just a number, just an average person. Hence, I would like to say something more about me, something what will give you an inside to my personality. My name is Katarzyna Kiedrowska and I am 18 years old girl from Poland and I am currently studying European Law at Maastricht University. Why did I decide to study Law? I think it is an important question since many people go to the University to study Law, Medicine or Economics only to earn a lot of money in the future. For me it was always the most irritating argument when it comes to choosing the right path of one’s life. Because it does not matter how much money you earn, what matters is that who you are. Coming back to me, when I was younger I have seen a lot of world’s unfairness and since the very beginning of my education I wanted to create a better world. Many people say that we should create a better, more honest and friendly world but do they really mean it? I know what I mean and what I want. Choosing the Law course was one of the best ideas in my life so far since I start to understand different points of views and what is the most important for me I realised that education is the key to success, but not only for my personal career but for others, for those who really need help and who should be taken care of. I strongly believe that everything what we do in our lives may contribute to something greater what for now cannot be reached. Combing people who want to have an impact in this world, who want to change something is the only solution for making this world more valuable place. Hence, I am one the biggest fans of the Model United Nations Conferences. I strongly believe that people who are committed to shared goal can achieve it by working hard and cooperating with others. I believe that this experience would enhance my grow as well as overview of some important aspect which for now I may not be familiar with. Speaking honestly I am the person who was always into doing a lot of things. When I was younger I have been going to ballet lesson, then to swimming classes. Later I have been training athletics for 5 years and now in the University I am starting climbing lessons. Being active in different areas makes us wiser and more emotionally intelligent what is really important nowadays. I developed passion for travelling with my backpack on and I have started to explore new cultures looking through eyes of people who have been living there since childhood. Being an ambitious person who was combing education, sports and social life was obviously not easy but after a while I realised that this is the best thing that could ever happen to me - to enhance my growth by meeting new people, sharing my knowledge with others and pushing myself to the limits of my body and mind. Because in my opinion you are starting your life when you actually do something meaningful not for yourself but for others who are really in need of it - and that is the exact definition of Model United Nations.
