I first heard about Model United Nations from Marie-Sophie’s stories during EuroMUN. Hearing about her experiences hit me in a way I didn’t expect. From that moment on, I admired her drive, curiosity, and the way she pulls people together.
Half French, half Polish, raised in France, she grew up in a world full of questions. From the start, she wanted to see more, meet new people, and understand life beyond her own backyard.
Her first taste of international teamwork came at LyonMUN. “I was shy, barely spoke English, and had no idea what I was walking into,” she says with a laugh. But even then, she found herself drawn to helping out behind the scenes, organizing, supporting, making things work.
From there, she dove into MUN fully. Conferences, continents, roles: delegate for Poland in DISEC, USG, deputy running whole teams. Every step taught her something new about patience, leadership, negotiation. Of course, there were bumps. Every mistake became a lesson, every crisis a chance to grow. And through it all, Marie-Sophie never lost her love for MUN.
Her master’s thesis brought it all full circle. She studied MUN not just as a hobby but as a place where people gain real skills that stick long after the conference ends. “It’s about confidence, responsibility, resilience,” she says. “The things you take away can’t be taught in a classroom.”
We didn’t manage to meet up in Warsaw, schedules clashed, life happened. I miss her. I can’t wait to sit down with Marie-Sophie, grab a coffee, and just soak up her energy. Some people are too special to let a few missed plans get in the way.
