DazooMUN 2026

DAZOOMUN (Dasoupoli’s Model United Nations) is a simulation of the United Nations, organised by youth for the youth, under the auspices of Archbishop Makarios III Lyceum of Dasoupoli. Here, delegates (young students) come together to discuss, exchange ideas, and find solutions to global problems, adopting the role of a UN Diplomat and defending their country's stance. 

Dasoupoli is one of the few public schools where an MUN is taking place. Our goal is to offer students from both public and private schools the opportunity to participate in such projects, because, as we say at DAZOOMUN, “United Nations start with United People - Uniting People through our Cypriot Identity.”

In this Conference, the discussions and debates will not only touch on frontline issues, but additionally address problems that have arisen in our Cypriot society, aiming for the youth -our future- to approach them holistically and explore solutions while maintaining respect, understanding and a sense of unity. 

Joining DAZOOMUN can be the first stepping stone for many young students in entering the debate world, an experience from which they will grow multifacetedly. This debate Conference allows young minds to participate in public dialogue, better understand the UN principles, as well as familiarise themselves with its processes. Moreover, all participants are given the opportunity to develop research skills and expand their knowledge on issues of high importance on a national and international level. It must also be highlighted that DAZOOMUN informs youth on diplomacy and cultivates morals and ethics concerning the value of peace, equality, human dignity, respect and acceptance of diversity. Finally, young debaters will be able to network with other like-minded adolescents and engage in fruitful debates, fostered in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
